The Company and what they do

This International company a Publisher of Games Software for the leading hardware platforms including PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®2 computer entertainment systems, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, Xbox 360® and Xbox® video game and entertainment systems from Microsoft, Wii™, Nintendo GameCube™, Nintendo DS™ and Game Boy® Advance, and for the PC.

They seek a number of key people for thier offices based in Berkshire. These are UK based positions but there may be the opportunity to travel in Europe and therefore a 2nd European language skill will be of interest.

Duties and responsibilities

To provide server and application support to users, answering queries and troubleshooting IT problems, and provide solutions

Install, configure and maintain local IT hardware and software according to policies in place.
Identify the cause of hardware and software failures and provide corrective action to rectify the problem.
Identify solutions which will reduce or eliminate the re-occurrence of hardware and software problems
Ensure email and other communication systems are operating properly, efficiently, and in accordance with corporate security and retention policies.
Answer queries and provide OS and Office application support to end users.
Assist in the development of and to adhere to standardised hardware and software installation and support procedures.
Make suggestions for upgrades and timely replacement of hardware and software packages across the company
Ensure the backup tapes of key systems are changed and working appropriately.
Serve as backup to Network Engineer for basic issue resolution and analysis
Ensure IT Issues are being assigned in a timely manner according to policies in place.

To build and enhance relationships with all territories and suppliers

Key Personal skills

MCSE qualified or equivalent qualification
Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in recording and reporting
Oral and written communication
Numerical analysis and reporting
Proven track record in Supporting Microsoft products in a networked environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Ability to interact with end users to successfully resolve queries and problems
Ability to translate technical jargon into plain English
Ability to work independently, using own initiative
